2022 F 150 Platinum

Ford Introduces All-Electric F-150 Lightning Pickup

The Ford-150 has been America’s best selling pickup truck for more than four decades, and not being a company to sit back and rest on their laurels, Ford is about to launch a huge advancement in the product line in the form of the new 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning. The new electric truck will soon be available at Hacienda Ford. Ford engineers worked tirelessly to ensure that the F-150 Lightning can stand up to all of the work that F-150 owners do on a daily basis, while also including a ton of new technology.

The new electric truck offers dual in-board electric motors, standard four-wheel drive, and a choice of two large battery packs, the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning is built to take on tough terrain, bad weather, and anything else you can throw at it. Up to 10,000 pounds of towing capacity and 2,000 pounds of payload capacity also make it one of the most capable trucks on the road.

Highly useful features like the built-in generator that can power your house, in-bed scales, and the lockable front trunk are just a few of the useful features Ford thought of when designing the F-150 Lightning. The new 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning is just one of Ford’s new all-electric vehicles that are part of the company’s push to electrify more of its lineup, which includes the new Mustang Mach-E and Ford E-Transit.

Due to extra power and torque from the electric motors, the F-150 Lightning is one of the most powerful versions of the F-150 ever made – with an impressive 563 horsepower and 775 lb.-ft. of torque (the most of any F-150 ever) and an estimated 0-60 time as low as the mid-4 second range. Combined with new independent rear suspension, the F-150 Lightning offers an exhilarating drive that is both quiet and comfortable, with all the tow-hauling capability you would need.

With a new emphasis on advancing technology, Ford is also going to be working to make the F-150 Lightning better over time, with over-the-air updates that can add new features to the vehicle. SYNC 4A is available as well, and can be optioned with a large 15.5-inch touchscreen that has built-in Amazon Alexa, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. There’s no doubt that the F-150 Lightning is the most advanced truck ever built.

In case you missed October’s Tip Tuesday’s, don’t worry! Here’s a re-cap.

Keep you vehicle in tip top shape by getting the most important parts of you vehicle inspected when needed.

Tip Tuesday #1: Rotate your tires when needed

Tt Ql 1

When rotating your tires, the tread life on your tires is maximized and the wear is evenly spread out across all four tires. Tires can also be inspected for damage and tread depth when being rotated.

Tip Tuesday #2: Oil changes are important!

Tt Ql 2

Good, clean oil is the main ingredient to a smooth running vehicle. Going months without an oil change can cause serious and costly damages to your vehicle. Most vehicles can go up to 5,000 miles without an oil change but it’s best to change it every 3,000 miles.

Tip Tuesday #3: Make sure all lights are working

Tt Ql 3

Driving without working lights is always dangerous, not only for you, but for other drivers on the road as well. If you noticed one of your lights is out, get it fixed as soon as possible. Your obligatory, headlamps and direction indicators are the most important.

Tip Tuesday #4: Check your brakes

Tt4

Having worn out brakes is a dangerous thing. Without brakes, your vehicle can have problems making a stop when needed. Make sure to get your brakes inspected when needed and replaced if damaged.

Checking on your vehicle and making sure everything is working properly can help you avoid costly damages and keep you safe while driving on the road. Visit your local Quick Lane for any inspections or repairs needed for your vehicle!

The Most Powerful Street Legal Ford EVER – 2020 Shelby Mustang GT500

Written by Clair M.

When the GT500 leaked a few months back, it sent the entire automotive industry on its head. Last week, Ford released even more details that caused an even bigger commotion.

“The all-new 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 will produce 760 horsepower and 625 lb. -ft of torque, making it the most powerful street-legal Ford ever- with the most power- and torque-dense supercharged production V8 engine in the world.”

Engine & Performance

Armed with a 5.2L supercharged cross-plane crank V8, this monster of an engine under the hood sounds like it means business. But Ford is no stranger to customization options, with the 4 different exhaust modes you can make this Shelby as quiet or loud as you want. Watch Road and Track’s video on the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500’s Four Exhaust Modes.

Offering a 7-speed dual clutch transmission, its claimed that the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 can run the quarter mile in less than 11 seconds reaching 60 MPH on 3.5 seconds.

With all these stats, this makes this the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 the fastest production Mustang ever. EVER.

We haven’t even touched the specs of the GT500 Carbon Fiber Track Pack.

Carbon Fiber Track Pack:

  • 20-inch exposed carbon fiber wheels
  • Adjustable strut top mounts
  • Exposed carbon fiber instrument panel
  • Exposed carbon fiber GT4 track wing
  • Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 Tires – 305/30R20 front, 315/30R20 rear
  • Rear seat delete
  • RECARO leather-trimmed seats with Miko suede inserts
  • Splitter wickers
  • Wheel locking kit

Exterior

The GT500 exterior is much like the leaked photos back in October. Although based largely off the GT350 platform, the GT500 features an aggressive new front fascia. The GT500 has blacked out the area of the bumper over in front of the crash support that coincides with the massive functional hood vent, aggressive splitter and black wire-mesh upper and lower grilles. But the exterior design of this vehicle isn’t just for looks.

Ford announced that the GT500 was meticulously designed for better airflow and aerodynamics.  This baby can produce up to 550 pounds of downforce which allows it to travel faster through a corner by increasing the vertical force on the tires, thus creating more grip.

Its just fancy talk for faster on a racetrack.

The defining features you expect to see on numerous GT500s are:

  • 20” flow-formed gloss black wheels (or optional 20” carbon fiber wheels)
  • Unique rear spoiler
  • Revised rear fascia
  • Larger exhaust tips
  • Signature GT500 badging
  • Exclusive rear splitter
  • Functional hood vent with removable rain tray and self-locating hood pins
  • Optional Over-The-Top Stripe Packages: Vinyl or Painted
  • Optional Carbon Fiber Instrumental Panel

Wait, wait! There are also new colors that you can sport in the GT500.

Interior

Is it the alcantara on the steering wheel? Maybe the carbon fiber instrumental panel or the door panels in faux suede with accent stitching? The 2020 GT500 has several touches that sets apart this model from the rest of the Mustang lineup.  Not to mention, you also have a beautiful optional two-tone Recaro seats with the iconic Shelby snake stitched right in the back of the seat!

The biggest change though is the gear shifter. Similar to the newer Ford Fusions, Edges, and Explorers you’ll catch the new gear selector dial. WOAH.

Some more interior options come with the GT500 Technology Package:

  • B&O Sound System by Bang & Olufsen.
  • Voice-activated touchscreen Navigation.
  • Blind Spot Information System with cross-traffic alert.
  • 3-Setting Memory Seat Feature.
  • Mirrors – heated, memory, turn signal and Cobra puddle lamps.

Price

Now, one of the most important factors. Price. That hasn’t been announced yet. BUT, we do know that another Shelby GT500 announcement is coming July 4th.
