Our Story
The Yoder family came to the Rio Grande Valley in 1923 and established a Pontiac, Cadillac and Oakland automobile company by the name of Yoder Motor Company. Before the Great Depression, Bill Yoder, the oldest son and father of our present owner, set up several dealership franchises throughout the Valley. In 1941, he bought the Ford franchise in Edinburg and named it Yoder Motor Sales. Mr. William R. Yoder succeeded his father and took over the ownership and renamed it Yoder Ford, Inc. in 1991.
Changing the Game
In 1999, I joined the company as an Office Manager. In 2001, Yoder Ford, Inc started doing business as Hacienda Ford and I was given honor to serve as a General Manager. A company is like a community. PEOPLE are its main ingredients. PEOPLE create the culture which is the foundation that the company is built on. Three top priorities of mine in creating a culture that sets us apart from other dealerships are:
- Flexible work hours for women, especially the ones HAVE family to care for. Their family comes first before work.
- Flexible work hours for full-time students. They can arrange their work hours around their school schedule.
- Continuous effort in creating jobs. Jobs creates earnings and earnings provide living necessities. It goes a full circle.
Over the past 20 years, we have grown from 30 employees to 270 employees AND served our guests from Edinburg to Rio Grande City. OUR magic to success has always remained the same, i.e., taking care of PEOPLE because PEOPLE are and will always be the main ingredients of our success. For the next 20 years, Hacienda Ford will continue to devote its resources in serving PEOPLE: (1) Community (2) Guests (3) Employees and be the trusted family dealership in providing people’s transportation needs so that they feel unstoppable and worry-free.”
