Ecolab Teams Up With Ford Pro for N.A. Fleet Electrification

Ecolab, a global sustainability leader, partners with Ford Proâ„¢ to electrify its sales and service fleet, aiming for complete North American fleet electrification by 2030. Starting in California, over 1,000 Ford F-150® Lightning® Pro trucks and Mustang® Mach-E® SUVs will be deployed, creating a large all-electric fleet. Utilizing Ford Pro’s charging and telematics software, Ecolab seeks to optimize vehicle performance and productivity. This transition aligns with Ecolab’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions globally by 2050, strengthening their long-standing commitment to sustainability and positive impact.

Ford and Ecolab have worked closely for almost 100 years, from water conservation at Ford now to electrification at Ecolab. Together, we’re showing that sustainability is good for the bottom line and the environment.

A Historic and Sustainable Collaboration

Since 1925, Ford and Ecolab have collaborated, focusing on water reduction and reuse in Ford plants. Ecolab currently operates over 10,000 light-duty vehicles in its North American fleet, with 95% being Ford vehicles. Over the past decade, Ecolab has procured over 31,000 Ford vehicles.

Ford and Ecolab have worked together for nearly a century, most recently to help conserve water and energy while improving business performance. Both Ford and Ecolab prioritize sustainability, aiming for carbon neutrality by 2050. Ford, with Ecolab’s assistance, has reduced water usage, preserving local freshwater sources. Since 2000, Ford has saved over 186 billion gallons of water, striving to use only fresh water for human consumption.

Major Business and Environmental Benefits

Switching to electric, Ecolab projects reduced costs, anticipating lower total ownership expenses compared to traditional ICE vehicles. With annual fuel savings of about 50% per 2023 F-150 Lightning Pro truck, equating to roughly $1,400 per vehicle annually,1 Ecolab plans to leverage Ford Pro software for fleet management in California.
