Did Bronco Change Its Release Date Due to Controversy?
The 2021 Ford Bronco has been long-awaited, to say the least. At Hacienda Ford, we are committed to bringing you the play-by-play updates on the reveal and release! Following the events of COVID-19 in March, Ford was forced to reschedule the release.
However, when the time came to announce the new date, fans noticed an interesting coincidence with the July 9th choice: O.J. Simpson was born on that very day in 1947.
What is the connection?
Some of our readers might be asking, what is the connection? Well what happened might be before your time. Let’s catch you up.
In 1994, O.J. Simpson led police on a slow-speed chase as a passenger in a white Bronco. Simpson was facing charges in the murder of his wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ronald Goldman. Simpson was later acquitted.
CONICIDENCE? Ford has said the timing of the original release date was coincidental.
A New Date
After repeated denial of this mishap’s accused intent, Ford chose to, again, further postpone the date to July 13th to disassociate from the believed controversy.
In spite of these delays, fans continue to wait patiently for the 2021 Ford Bronco’s reveal. Rumor has it that the Bronco Sport or popularly known as the Baby Bronco will be rivaling the Jeep Renegade while the full size Bronco will rival the Jeep Wrangler.
It’s been quite a bumpy road for this off-roader vehicle, but we can’t wait to see what Ford has in store for us come the 13th! But the question still remains….. WAS IT A COINCIDENCE?
