In case you missed October’s Tip Tuesday’s, don’t worry! Here’s a re-cap.
Keep you vehicle in tip top shape by getting the most important parts of you vehicle inspected when needed.
Tip Tuesday #1: Rotate your tires when needed
When rotating your tires, the tread life on your tires is maximized and the wear is evenly spread out across all four tires. Tires can also be inspected for damage and tread depth when being rotated.
Tip Tuesday #2: Oil changes are important!
Good, clean oil is the main ingredient to a smooth running vehicle. Going months without an oil change can cause serious and costly damages to your vehicle. Most vehicles can go up to 5,000 miles without an oil change but it’s best to change it every 3,000 miles.
Tip Tuesday #3: Make sure all lights are working
Driving without working lights is always dangerous, not only for you, but for other drivers on the road as well. If you noticed one of your lights is out, get it fixed as soon as possible. Your obligatory, headlamps and direction indicators are the most important.
Tip Tuesday #4: Check your brakes
Having worn out brakes is a dangerous thing. Without brakes, your vehicle can have problems making a stop when needed. Make sure to get your brakes inspected when needed and replaced if damaged.
Checking on your vehicle and making sure everything is working properly can help you avoid costly damages and keep you safe while driving on the road. Visit your local Quick Lane for any inspections or repairs needed for your vehicle!
2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Upshifts Faster than A Blink of An Eye
Yea, the average human’s eye blinks at a speed of 300 to 400 milliseconds while the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 upshifts in as little as 80 milliseconds – making it the most capable Mustang powertrain ever. Ford also says that the new GT500 can zoom from 0-100mph and back to zero again in just 10.6 seconds. WOAH.
It All Works Together
How did Ford make this speed monster so quick? Ford says it’s a combination of things from the 760 horsepower and the 625 lb-ft of torque. (That’s more powerful than Ford’s GT supercar.) The brake rotors measure 16.5 inches up to the front, and of course the transmission. The new seven-speed dual-clutch developed by Tremec can perform upshifts in less than a blink of an eye. You can read more on all the specs and interior here.
What’s the Price Tag?
The price was leaked on Mustang6G forum and confirmed to Motor Authority by Ford stating that the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 will start from $73,995, including a $1,095 destination and a $2,600 gas guzzler tax.
Are you on an amusement ride each time you drive your vehicle? These aren’t the Good Vibrations, the Beach Boys we’re talking about. If you’re experiencing this problem, you’re probably wondering why its happening and if there’s something you can do to make it stop.
There are several reasons why your vehicle is shaking and we’re naming the top 3. We always recommend to speak with our trained service advisors at our Tire & Auto Center at Quick Lane at Hacienda Ford!
The most common reason for a car to shake is usually related to tires and there are many reasons why your tires could be causing your shaking and wobbling every time you start driving.
Tire Rotation – The most common cause of vehicle shakes at 50 m.p.h. or higher is tire balance. You will need to rotate your tires if they are wearing unevenly. This causes the balance of your vehicle to get thrown off and make your vehicle shake!
Bent Rim – Potholes are evil, especially for your rims. If your vehicle is shaking for most of the time and the vibration can be felt in the steering wheel or seats (depending on which wheel is bent) , it could be because you have a bent rim. Bent rims can happen because of a pothole or driving over a curb. Bent rims can cause decreased fuel efficiency and poor handling.
Brakes – Does your vehicle shake intensify when you apply the brakes? The issue might be that your vehicle is adapting to warped brake rotor(s). The rotor can get bent out of shape due to normal wear and tear. Sometimes instead of being uniformly flat all the way across, a deformed rotor is raised or lowered on part of its surface. The calipers and brake pads which are what squeeze the brake rotors to make the car stop care not able to get a proper grip on a warped rotor creating the vibration.
Shakes from your vehicle can be due to engine problems. Sometimes a shake or shudder will originate from the engine because the engine isn’t getting the proper amount of air, fuel or spark that it needs to run smoothly. If this is the case, you’ll notice the following symptoms:
Staccato shaking within a particular speed range. (It feels like you’re driving over those speed rumbling strips)
Jerking and shuddering when you press on the accelerator.
Your car probably will start ok and drive fine for a bit but eventually will start shaking after a while.
Any of these symptoms might indicate that its time to change your spark plugs or dirty air filter.
Power Steering Problems
Are you feeling shaking or vibration only when you turn your steering wheel? One hint that it might be the power steering is if the vibration is also felt if you turn your wheel while the vehicle is in park. Look at the power steering system’s hoses to see if there any visible leaks and check the reservoir to see if the power steering fluid needs to be topped off.
